Now that you should have reviewed all of the math programs/curricula for your respective grade level, the next step is to eventually make a decision which the district should adopt as their math program. Teachers should have individually reviewed the programs/curricula and made notes as to the strengths and weaknesses of each, along with their overall thoughts for each. Before sharing your thoughts with the other teachers, you should prioritize the curricula for your respective grade band based on your notes and personal opinions.
To prioritize the programs, complete the appropriate Google form by clicking the appropriate link. Click the link, complete the form and submit it.
After everyone has submitted their respective form, we will meet as a math committee to go over the form results and discuss teachers individual notes and opinions. The goal is to choose the best program/curriculum for each grade band (PK-5, 6-8, and 9-12). Although it may be beneficial to adopt a common program/curriculum across PK-8, it is NOT entirely necessary.
If there is not a clear consensus on the chosen program/curriculum, we will narrow it to the top two based on form results and committee discussions. The goal is to choose the program(s) that will be adopted at each grade band by June 1, 2018.
Please complete the appropriate prioritizing form by May 1 and we will schedule a committee meeting early in May to have a whole group discussion.
