Test Preparation Resource #1 – Study Island
As a robust practice and preparation tool, Study Island not only prepares students for end-of-year assessments but also helps drive meaningful formative assessment strategies in the classroom. Study Island supports the learning process with engaging, interactive lessons and activities to continuously monitor progress and ensure proficiency.

Overview: Study Island’s user-friendly interface allows students to move through the program step-by-step. Each section has a pretest and a post test, as well as topics that cover each of the standards.
Topics consist of questions, answers, explanations, and lessons that address the specific skills required in mastering the topics:
- Algebra I
- Algebra II
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Civics and Economics
- Geometry
- U.S. History and Geography
- World History and Geography
They system shows students which strands they’re weak in, so they can focus on the skills they need to pass the exam with flying colors. Teachers, tutors, and mentors can utilize the system to track student progress and identify areas where additional intervention may be necessary.
As an Opportunity School mentor you will not be responsible for assigning subjects or content for students. However, you will be working with Opportunity School staff to provide intervention, encourage student utilization of the system by encouraging students to complete preparation modules, practice modules, and online tutorials for targeted content.
Mentor Login Information: Opportunity School leadership will provide volunteers, tutors, and mentors with access to the system. Using the credentials provided to you by the Opportunity School Leadership Team, volunteers and mentors may login to Study Island from any web browser utilizing the following URL: http://www.studyisland.com/login
